Her story
Where families, systems & communities meet.
For more than 26 years, Kristen Means has held executive leadership roles across child welfare, behavioral health, crisis intervention and community services — including leadership with Georgia DFCS. Her work has placed her at the center of some of the most important moments in people's lives — when a family needs stability, when a child needs safety, and when someone needs a clear path forward.
Throughout her career she has led multidisciplinary teams, managed complex service systems, overseen contracts and built working partnerships with public agencies, courts, behavioral health providers, hospitals, schools and community organizations.
Kristen earned her Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University, is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is an LCSW candidate. She founded Means To Thrive to bring that depth of experience directly to the individuals and families who need it.
